The United States is committed to maintaining a robust refugee admissions program

September 11 – The United States is committed to maintaining a robust refugee admissions program, and is particularly aware of the needs of the Syrian refugee population. The President has determined that the administration will accept 10,000 Syrian refugees in the coming year.  The United States has provided over $4.1 billion in humanitarian assistance since the start of the crisis – more than any other single donor – to help address dire humanitarian conditions faced by 7.6 million displaced people inside Syria and over 4 million Syrian refugees throughout the region.
