The U.S. Missions to Italy and to the United Nations Agencies in Rome and the U.S. Embassy to the Holy See will limit their operations as of March 11, 2020, in accordance with the Government of Italy’s March 9 decree establishing a country-wide protective zone to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Reduced levels of staff will perform necessary diplomatic functions. Emergency services for U.S. citizens and emergency visa processing will continue to be available.
