The Ambassador of the United States of America to the United Nations Agencies in Rome, David J. Lane, presented his diplomatic credentials to the heads of the UN Agencies in Rome this week.
On Monday, August 6, 2012 Ambassador Lane presented his credentials to José Graziano da Silva, the Director-General of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) at FAO headquarters in Rome.
On Tuesday August 7th, Ambassador Lane visited the headquarters of the following Agencies and presented his credentials to the Executive Director of the UN World Food Programme (WFP), Ertharin Cousin, the President of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) Kanayo F. Nwanze, the Director-General of the International Development Law Organization (IDLO), Irene Khan and the Secretary-General of the International Institute for the Unification of Private Law (UNIDROIT) José Angelo Estrella Faria.
David Lane is the seventh U.S. Ambassador to the UN Agencies in Rome. Ambassador Lane was sworn in as the U.S. Representative on July 19, 2012 by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
He arrived in Rome on July 21, 2012.
